We continue our series of contractor interviews and break into our planned track with this important interview. Sean Smith is Vice President for MPW Construction Services, Inc. of Wellington, OH (Greater Cleveland Market). A second generation wall contractor and owner, Sean has seen more in his career than most would ever care to imagine. Having endured the Great Recession of 2008-2010 that ended the company’s expansion effort into Pennsylvania, he now has a daily focus on managing the evolving crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jim Baty, host of Behind the Mic engages Sean with an internet interview during this trying time to bring you a perspective of a Wall Dog colleague that is finding ways to meet the requirements of the demanding market as well as the precautions and preventive controls necessary to protect their number one resource, their workforce. Sean offers his perspective on being partner and friend with his Dad who passes on the legacy that he started, one that heavily relies and involves the Concrete Foundations Association and what that means for relying on trusted advisors and creative thinkers he has met during his own time in the Association. As Sean gets real and shares intimately with the battle they face, he does not hesitate to also pass along the very real and very positive encouragement that has started to come from the small daily successes the MPW team are able to make.
